JENNY ACTON

Over the past 20 years, Jenny has worked with UN agencies, NGOs and federal and provincial governments to support social change processes in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Canada. Jenny has led a range of policy, program and advocacy initiatives focused on health, education, sexual and reproductive health and rights, economic empowerment, nutrition and food security, and humanitarian response.

As a gender specialist, Jenny has been collaborating with Canadian and international organizations to strengthen internal capacities for gender, diversity and inclusion policy and practice by conducting organizational gender audits, developing gender equality policies and strategies, and co-designing gender-transformative projects and evaluation and learning frameworks across multiple sectors.

Jenny holds a master’s degree in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, and a bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies, with a specialization in Gender, from the University of Guelph.
