Genevieve is a global development professional with more than 20 years of experience working with UN agencies, government and civil society organizations in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. Specialized in project design, she leads and supports organizations through project development, management and partnership building processes, as well as strengthening performance and risk management systems. 

She has worked in senior leadership, advisory and training capacities and has led teams through large-scale project development processes in health, education, food security, child rights, gender equality, climate change mitigation and adaptation, housing and human settlements, and inclusive and sustainable cities.

In addition to her consulting practice, she is adjunct faculty in the International Development Graduate Program at Humber College.

She holds a master of science degree in Urban Planning from the University of Toronto, a master of arts degree in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University, and a bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies from Trent University.

JENNY ACTON

Over the past 20 years, Jenny has worked with UN agencies, NGOs and federal and provincial governments to support social change processes in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Canada. Jenny has led a range of policy, program and advocacy initiatives focused on health, education, sexual and reproductive health and rights, economic empowerment, nutrition and food security, and humanitarian response.

As a gender specialist, Jenny has been collaborating with Canadian and international organizations to strengthen internal capacities for gender, diversity and inclusion policy and practice by conducting organizational gender audits, developing gender equality policies and strategies, and co-designing gender-transformative projects and evaluation and learning frameworks across multiple sectors.

Jenny holds a master’s degree in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, and a bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies, with a specialization in gender, from the University of Guelph.
